ONELife

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The ONELife FAQ answers the most common questions about the ONELife life strategy system, assessment, app, methodology, and who it’s designed for.

IS ONELIFE RIGHT FOR ME?

1. How can ONELife help me if I work long hours or have a demanding job?

ONELife works with the reality of your life, not an idealized version of it. If your days are full and demanding, ONELife helps you see how each domain of your life interacts, reducing unnecessary friction and giving you clarity on what truly moves the needle. It does not add more to your plate. It helps you see the plate differently.

ONELife is not another habit tracker or productivity tool. It’s a life strategy system that replaces noise with clarity.

The time commitment is light: weekly check-ins to stay aligned, and optional daily glances when you’re curious. You’re not logging tasks or tracking metrics unless you choose to. Most people don’t need more tools. They need a unified way to understand their life. ONELife gives you that.

ONELife is for anyone who wants their life to work as one system instead of many disconnected parts: whether you feel lost, stuck, successful, or somewhere in between.

It’s designed for:

  • People in the messy middle (ages 25-65) juggling career, family, health, and more
  • High performers who are successful but feel fragmented or burned out
  • Anyone whose life is real, busy, and imperfect

You don’t need to be organized, disciplined, or have it all figured out. The system brings order to complexity and creates its own rhythm.

ONELife requires some discipline, but not the strict, military kind. The discipline comes from the structure itself: the unicycle, the wheel, and POST. These elements make it easier to stay consistent because they give you clarity on what matters and why.

You’re not white-knuckling your way through random habits. You’re following a unified strategy that creates its own rhythm. Once you see how the system works, follow-through becomes far more natural.

Yes. ONELife is most powerful during unstable or transitional times. It helps you regain clarity, create direction, and build a rhythm even when life is shifting around you.

The system doesn’t make your life more complicated – it simplifies it by showing you which actions matter most across every domain. Whether your life is chaotic, unstable, or just busy, ONELife reduces overwhelm rather than adding to it.

ONELife is designed for individual life strategy, but many people use it alongside their partner. Each person has their own account and their own unified strategy, which actually makes coordination and communication easier because you both understand what matters most to each of you.

Some couples check in weekly to share their focus domains and trade-offs so they can support each other better. You’re not trying to merge into one strategy. You’re two people with clear strategies learning to coordinate.

The ONELife method has helped some couples avoid arguments, even separation – replacing arguments with life strategy coordination, communication and collaboration. This is the power of a common language.

Yes. ONELife is built for real life, and that includes irregular schedules and constant travel. The system uses weekly check-ins and rhythm tools, not rigid daily routines. You check alignment weekly and glance at your strategy when you need it.

Travel and time zones don’t break your strategy. They’re just variables you account for in your trade-offs. In fact, people with chaotic schedules often find ONELife most valuable because it gives them clarity when everything else is shifting.

HOW ONELIFE WORKS

8. How long before I see results?

Clarity comes fast, usually within the first week of building your strategy. You’ll know what matters and why, which immediately reduces mental noise.

Behavioral alignment takes a few weeks as you start making decisions that reinforce your strategy instead of fragmenting it. Most people feel noticeably more in rhythm within 4 to 6 weeks.

Life transformation is ongoing. ONELife isn’t a quick fix. It’s a system that compounds over time. The longer you use it, the more your life unifies and the clearer your path becomes.

Traditional systems give you isolated goals and habits. None cover strategy.

ONELife uses the POST model: Profile, Objectives, Strategy, Tactics. Your tactics aren’t random; they flow directly from your domain strategy, which exists to accomplish your domain objectives. All 8 life domains have their own POST, and together they roll up into ONE life strategy, aligned to your purpose, values, and principles.

This means your actions across health, work, finances, relationships, and other domains are interconnected and reinforce each other instead of competing.

Yes, but not the way typical productivity apps do. ONELife has a dashboard that tracks strategic alignment, not just task completion.

The dashboard shows: which of your 8 domains are aligned, neutral, or off track; your weekly focus and trade-offs; energy levels across domains; and patterns in wins and friction.

You can track tactics if you choose, but they’re always connected to your domain strategy and objectives. Your life improves when your strategy is unified, and your domains stay in rhythm, not when you log more tasks.

The Life Strategy Assessment is your starting point with ONELife. It takes about 7 minutes and reveals:

  • Your unique archetype: Drifter, Juggler, Climber, or Tightrope Rider
  • Your Life Strategy Intelligence (LSI) score across 8 domains
  • Which domains have friction and need attention

It’s private, free, and judgment-free. The assessment shows where you are now so you can build a strategy that actually fits your life. Try it at onelifestrategy.com/assessment

Based on your assessment, you’ll discover your primary archetype:

  • Drifter: Moving through life without clear direction
  • Juggler: Managing multiple priorities but struggling to keep everything in motion
  • Climber: Focused and driven in some domains, but others may be neglected
  • Tightrope Rider: High stakes, high stress, trying to maintain perfect balance

Your archetype isn’t a label – it’s a starting point. ONELife helps you move from survival patterns to sustainable rhythm.

POST stands for Profile, Objectives, Strategy, Tactics: the four layers of your life domains:

  • Profile: Your current situation in each domain
  • Objectives: What you want to accomplish in each domain
  • Strategy: How you’ll achieve those objectives, your approach – this is the hardest part for most people
  • Tactics: What you actually do daily/weekly to execute your strategy

Most systems jump straight to tactics (to-do lists, habits). POST ensures your daily actions actually align with what matters most. Each of your 8 life domains has its own POST, forming one unified life strategy.

A bicycle has two wheels, implying you can balance ‘work’ on one side and ‘life’ on the other. But that’s not how life works.

Life is a unicycle. You can’t separate work from life and balance them against each other. You only have one wheel, one seat, one life – and it all has to move together.

The unicycle metaphor reminds you that alignment isn’t about balancing two sides. It’s about keeping everything moving in the same direction, guided by your purpose (seat), core values (axle), and guiding principles (pedals).

Most people spend:

  • 7 minutes: Initial assessment (one-time)
  • 10-15 minutes: Weekly check-in (reviewing domains, setting focus)
  • 2-3 minutes: Daily glance (optional – when you need clarity)

Unlike productivity apps that require constant logging, ONELife is designed for reflection, not data entry. Think: 15 minutes of strategy per week vs. hours of scattered productivity busywork.

The Messy Middle is the S in POST: Strategy. It’s what most apps and frameworks skip – unless it’s work-related.

Most tools make it easy to set goals (we define Objectives based on SMART criteria) and then jump straight to to-do lists and action items (Tactics). But they leave out the crucial middle layer: Strategy, the logic and approach that connects what you want to accomplish with the specific actions that will actually get you there.

Strategy is hard to write down. For many, it’s even hard to understand. It’s messy. That’s why most apps skip it.

ONELife was built specifically to fill this gap. We took a business concept – Strategy – and applied it to real life. This isn’t just a strength of ONELife; it’s a key differentiator.

When you have strategy guiding your tactics, your daily actions aren’t random. They’re part of a unified plan that actually works. (See our blog on Definitions <link> for more on this.)

WHAT ONELIFE IS AND ISN'T

18. Is ONELife coaching or therapy?

No. ONELife is a life strategy operating system. It gives you structure, clarity, and direction so you can make decisions with confidence. It is not emotional counseling or mental health treatment and does not replace professional support.

Friends and habits help, but they cannot build a unified life strategy. Most routines and goals operate in isolation. Health over here, work over there, finances somewhere else. ONELife helps you see the full system so that every part of your life supports the rest.

Yes. Start with the free Life Strategy Intelligence (LSI) Assessment at onelifestrategy.com/assessment.

The assessment shows your archetype, LSI score, and which domains need attention – no subscription required. You can also explore our journal and blog.

AI & TECHNOLOGY

21. Why not just use ChatGPT or Claude for free?

AI tools are excellent for specific tasks – writing emails, brainstorming ideas, researching options. But they’re not life strategists.

The core difference: AI gives you answers when you ask the right questions. ONELife helps you figure out what questions to ask.

Why DIY with AI fails: You need expertise you don’t have. You need consistency you can’t maintain. You need accountability AI can’t provide. You need a unified system, not scattered conversations.

What ONELife provides: 45-year proven methodology. Built-in accountability through weekly check-ins and pattern recognition. Zero friction: no prompting required. Integration across 8 domains, not separate chats.

Perfect. We encourage it.

AI is excellent for tactical execution: drafting emails, brainstorming ideas, creating workout routines, researching strategies.

ONELife is your strategic foundation: the system that defines what matters most, reveals where you’re off track, and keeps you moving forward with purpose.

Think of it this way: AI is the contractor. ONELife is the architect. You need both, but the architect comes first.

ONELife sits above your other apps. We’re not trying to replace your fitness tracker, project management tool, calendar, or finance app. We’re the strategic layer that makes sense of all of them.

We provide up to eight signals from tools you already use – for example, your fitness watch, work project management, financial tools, and calendar. These signals feed into your ONELife dashboard to help you see patterns and stay aligned.

But we’re not an integration platform. That would be impossible given the hundreds of apps in the market across all eight life domains. We’re giving you the strategic layer above pre-determined popular tools, so everything you do connects to what matters most.

ONELife is mobile-only (iOS-first, Android parity). It’s built for your phone because that’s where you actually live. You check it between meetings, on your commute, before bed. We designed it to fit your real rhythm, not force you to sit at a computer.

Your data is completely private. We do not sell, share, or monetize your personal information. Period.

Your life strategy, domain objectives, trade-offs, and insights belong to you. We use encryption to protect your data, and you can delete your account and all associated data at any time. ONELife makes money from subscriptions, not from selling your information.

HOW ONELIFE COMPARES

26. How does ONELife compare to Tony Robbins AI, Notion Life OS, or other personal growth systems?

Those systems focus on motivation, information, or data organization (can be quite complex). ONELife focuses on life strategy – the layer above all of them. It integrates purpose, objectives, core values, guiding principles, and rhythm into a single system.

Compare our pricing (max $180/yr) to that of Tony Robbins’ 1:1 programs: $4,500-$8,200 for 6 months, or $9,000-$18,000 for 12 months.

Flow is a state. ONELife is a system. Flow helps you perform in the moment. ONELife helps you understand your life, structure your priorities, and create the conditions where flow becomes more accessible and sustainable.

Quick Take:

Life Design = Exploratory (“What could my life be?”)

ONELife = Operational (“How do I live my chosen life well?”)

Life Design: Creative exploration, prototyping multiple paths, project-based, great when you don’t know what you want

ONELife: Strategic execution, unifying one path, ongoing rhythm, great when you know what matters but life feels fragmented

Can you use both? Yes. Use Life Design at crossroads. Use ONELife to live the life you’ve chosen with clarity.

Quick Take:

Wheel of Life = Assessment tool (shows the problem)

ONELife = Complete system (assessment + strategy + execution + rhythm)

The difference:

Wheel of Life rates 8-10 areas on 1-10 scale, shows which need attention, creates visual snapshot. But it doesn’t tell you what to do, give you a strategy, help with execution, or show how domains interact.

ONELife does all of that. Wheel of Life is a diagnostic. ONELife is the complete system.

Quick Take:

Total Leadership = Leadership development (4 domains, 12-week program)

ONELife = Life strategy system (8 domains, ongoing)

The difference:

Total Leadership develops you as a leader who shows up authentically across work, home, community, and self. ONELife develops your entire life as a unified system where every part supports the whole.

Can you use both? Yes. Total Leadership’s exercises are excellent. ONELife provides the strategic infrastructure to sustain those wins long-term.

Programs like Plack’s are more business-centric and still operate within a two-life model – balancing work life with personal life. OneLife Strategy is designed to break that model entirely by creating a single, integrated life strategy where work, health, relationships, finances, and purpose are aligned instead of competing.
